Summer Is In Full Swing
We are thoroughly enjoying our summer so far!! This has been an amazing year full of activities that kept us busy and also taught us a lot! Some of the most memorable activities so far include Camp New Dawn, a trip to Six Flags, tubing the Toccoa River, hiking, fishing, swimming and trips to the Chattanooga Zoo. Not to mention, we have had 7 residents that are working through the TeenWork Program this summer at local agencies. They were very excited to be making their own money.
We are sad to see it coming to an end but now we must gear up for school. We have a full house (16) of both Middle School and High School age children who are looking forward to starting the new school year. Church of the Nativity has contacted us and are making sure that we are starting the year with all the needed supplies. All we like is some last minute school clothes shopping and we will be set. I would like to thank EVERYONE who supports us in any way. I say it a lot, but there is truly no way we could do what we do without the help of each and every one of you!!
Christmas is Coming!!
Christmas is the most magical time of year, even when you're in a group home. We try very hard to ensure that all of our children have an amazing Christmas that leaves them with memories and joy that last them for years to come! Christmas isn't far away and we have to get started early to make sure that all 16 children have the best Christmas ever. There is no way that we can make it magical alone, we need your help! We are searching for sponsors to purchase items that our children have on their wish list. We can accommodate any budget. If shopping isn't your favorite past time, a monetary donation with "Christmas" on the memo line allows us to do the shopping for you. We need all sponsors in place by November 15, 2015 and all gifts dropped off by December 15th. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. Click below to contact us for more information on being a Christmas Sponsor or making a donation.
We can house up to 16 teenagers with ages ranging from 13 years old up to 18 years old. As you can imagine, we go through the normal household supplies such as health and beauty aids and paper products very fast. We ask that donations of in-kind items such as paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, shampoo and body wash, etc. be made directly to The Cottage. When items like this are donated it helps free up money that can be used for things like clothing, supplies or outings. Items listed below are items that we are either out of or continually to run out of. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated and tax deductible!
- Kitchen Garbage Bags
- Clothes Hangers
- Body Wash
- Hair Brushes/Combs
- HE Laundry Detergent
